After A great deal of thought and justification in my own mind I have decided to build a shop in my back yard. The neighbors wouldn’t let me put it in the front yard. I have approached the project as if it were a project brought to our office (Coleman-Johnston-Clyma, Inc. Architects) by a client seeking our services. We couldn’t accept such a project because we would go broke doing the research and programming required for this type of very personal project. I had thought maybe the process might be of interest or use to someone else dreaming of their own shop and that I could keep a diary that could be shared. But a diary is sort of a daily record of events and I am too far into this to start now. I settled on a kind of continuing serial like the Saturday movie westerns when I was growing up spending every Saturday at the Cove theater on the west side of town for a quarter plus a dime for popcorn.
